In January 2007, the FDA gave clearance for the first Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) medical device for the treatment of hair loss.
Studies concluded that 93% of participants had an increase in the number of terminal (thick) hairs after LLLT. The average number of terminal hairs per square centimeter increased by 19 hairs/cm over a six-month period. No serious side effects have been reported.
FDA acceptance of Laser Hair Therapy as a hair loss treatment has opened the door to a new and exciting era of drug-less and non-invasive alternative therapies.
PILC offers in-office treatments with the Sunetics Model "G" Clinical Laser system. Typically, we recommend 2-3 treatments per week for at least 6 months. Each treatment is 20 minutes in duration. Although potent, these treatments are considered safe and effective.
We also offer The Laser Cap, specially designed for home and travel use. This device has become very popular and is easy to use. It only requires a commitment of 20 minutes, two to three times a week.
